Happy hour every hour
The Dovas family of pubs has long been famous for their modest beer prices, which draw in a mixed crowd and masses of regulars. If you want to combine having a beer with DJs and a dancefloor, take yourself down to Dovas on Ringvägen. Bear in mind that bar prices can vary somewhat between the different locations.
An emerging empire?
Far & Son opened their first bar on Rosenlundsgatan near Södra train station in 2016 but an empire is promised within the next few years. And it's a concept that has worked in the past. Drinks and simple dishes are served here for friendly prices.
Sports bar with a retro feel
Seventies and Eighties nostalgia combine with USA-influenced dishes and cheap beer at Retro's modern sports bars. Watching a big match is probably the main reason to come here, but it's not the only one. Prices can vary somewhat between bars.

Cheap cocktails from the F12 group
The guys behind the well-regarded F12 group complement their hamburger joint with a top-notch budget bar every evening. Some of the city's cheapest cocktails are mixed behind the fast food counter, flavoured with everything from blueberries to ginger. Wine, beer and non-alcoholic drinks are on the menu, accompanied by the evening's DJ.
Reliable Södermalm hangout
If you've hung out on Södermalm a lot and are a fan of cheap beer, you'll probably have stumbled across Carmen, a stone's throw from the little park called Björns trädgård. A classic Södermalm hangout with an unpretentious atmosphere and punters of all ages. Relax and forget all about being trendy.

Jolly budget joint
A convivial atmosphere and unusually low food and drink prices - Lion Bar is quite simply THE place for anyone looking for an unpretentious budget night out. Up until 8pm there are often even more reasonable offers on both food and drink. The prices can vary somewhat between the different bars, but they're always low.
A bit like the Wild West
Saloon-inspired budget bar on Sveavägen with slightly loftier ambitions. You can combine a cheap glass of wine or a beer with, for example, a grilled hamburger or a few snacks. The bar menu is broad with, naturally, a strong focus on beer.

Hirschenkeller Sveavägen, Hirschenkeller Fridhemsplan, Hirschenkeller Hornsgatan & Hirschenkeller Götgatsbacken
Laid-back hangout since 1976
There are numerous Hirschenkellers around town and the name is synonymous with a laid-back pub setting and unpretentious atmosphere, but the bars are perhaps best known for their extremely good-value food and drink. This is the place to hang out with your crew, drink beer and perhaps have a steak, bratwurst or burger. The first Hirschenkeller opened in 1976.
A beer behind Medborgarplats?
The budget joint Hellströms is located behind Medborgarplats, and meat and fish dishes, among other things, are on the menu here, as well as great value specials for hungry guests. Anyone with a thirst for beer has also come to the right place because it's good and cheap here.
