Well, this was probably well below expectations. We let the restaurant put together a bunch of dishes for us to share (big company). Shrimp and oysters in all their glory, it's hard to fail at, but maybe that's not what we were expecting to get into Italy. Then came the classic Italian dishes. Capresen was like that, you've been a bit spoiled with burrata lately, then regular mozzarella doesn't really work anymore, regardless of whether it's buffalo. Gnocchi with tomato sauce and mozzarella is always good, again difficult to fail at, but not hot enough and could have been much tastier. The chicken with potatoes and some sky, which looked far too dreary, both IRL and pictured, was abysmal. I don't like Melanzane, so I have a hard time commenting on it.
The service was ok, but it took a long time to get the food. When I ordered a lemonade, I asked if it was ok with that bottled lemonade like that. Then I countered with whether you could get an apple juice, because they obviously thought it was hard to mix a lemonade, but they didn't. Then they made a lemonade, which was approved. Later in the dinner, I ordered a "Coke." To then not warn that it is not Coca-Cola, but some Italian equivalent, is bad. Moreover, serving it uncooled is beneath all criticism. Besides, it was really disgusting. Should of course sent it out, but settled for water. Bothers me when restaurants don't respect people who don't want to drink alcohol.
