Hade länge sett fram emot besöket på Farang och var sedan jag bokade bordet till mig och mitt sällskap inställd på att det var avsmakningsmenyn som gällde för vår del.

När vi kom in till restaurangen slogs vi direkt av att lokalen, som har en industriell stil, kändes väldigt stimmig. Det var helt fullsatt och hög ljudnivå i och med att lokalen har högt i tak och är ganska sparsamt inredd med textilier.

Vi började med en drink, Ginger smash, vilken var fräsch. Samtidigt beställde vi avsmakningsmenyn till hela sällskapet. Det dröjde dessvärre lång tid innan första rätten kom in (lite väl lång tid), vilket gjorde att vi var väldigt ivriga och på gränsen till smått irriterade när första rätten väl kom in. Därefter droppade rätterna in med olika mellanrum. Vi drack enbart bubbel genom hela kvällen, vilket passade bra.

Vissa rätter var SJUKT goda, medan andra var goda, men inte exceptionellt goda. Vissa av rätterna var liksom ungefär lika goda som de man kan beställa på närmsta thai-kiosk, vilket inte är någonting dåligt i min mening - jag älskar thai-kioskar! Men det var liksom inga kioskvältar-rätter. Den krispiga grisen, som jag hade läst mycket om, var sjukt god!

Maten var alltså god rakt igenom, men jag saknade finess och "det lilla extra" med tanke på att avsmakningsmenyn är långt ifrån gratis. Det som tyvärr drar ned betyget lite ytterligare var servicen. Vi hade flera olika servitörer under kvällen, som förvisso var trevliga allihopa, men det kändes lite som att avsmakningsmenyn rullades ut till alla sällskap i restaurangen på löpande band. Det var väldigt många sällskap som skulle serveras i och med att restaurangen var helt fullsatt och det kändes som att personalen fick slita som djur för att ens hinna få ut maten i tid. Jag tror att servicen hade upplevts som bättre om det hade varit färre sällskap i restaurangen.

Förvänta dig inga stordåd, men jag landar ändå i att ja, jag rekommenderar Farang för dig som gillar asiatisk mat, helt enkelt. Kanske bara inte på en fredagskväll i pandemitider där hela restaurangen ska serveras under tidspress!

Tog den ena avsmakningsmenyn med spädgris och soft Shell crab, vilka båda rätter var fantastiska! Den första rätten, regnbågslaxen i ett blad, var även den 5/5. Dock sänktes betyg lite pga. för stora rätter, de sista rätterna på menyn kunde därför inte avnjutas på bästa sätt. Efterrätten bestod av en asiatisk cheesecake med kokossorbet. Har nu varit tillbaka på Farang två gånger senaste månaden, men endast för dryck. Måste säga att jag är imponerad! Så trevligt ställe att ta ett glas på. Drinkarna såg riktigt, riktigt goda och välgjorda ut, men jag fastnade för vinlistan. ÄLSKAR att de serverar halvglas!! Varför gör inte fler restauranger det? Otroligt härligt att kunna få testa flera olika glas! Jag drack en otroligt god pet nat (piu piu rosé). Kan starkt rekommendera den, smakade jordgubbar! Sedan provade jag ett annat naturvin som också var väldigt bra. Trevlig stämning, kunnig personal. Riktigt bra ställe att att gå till för ett glas vin eller en drink!
