Review of Sturehof – by Lisa N.

[Writing the review in English so all international guests will be warned. If you have any sense of integrity and especially if you’re used to good service, please go elsewhere].

I don’t know if I should laugh or cry whilst writing this review, and honestly I am at a loss for words whilst trying to even summarize the awful treatment we received at Sturehof this evening. To make the story short, we were asked to leave the restaurant because we (a party of two, not drunk, sharing one bottle of red wine and having dinner) were sitting close to ech other and the waitress with blonde short hair (beware…) wanted us to move a chair so she could pass by our table. Fine, but we were sitting outside (in Sweden, in December) by the windows and she had to walk two meters to the left to pass by easily. We questioned the absurdity in this, and told her we could happily move if she had to walk to the only table behind us. But she didn’t like being questioned. Plus, we weren’t blocking any table at all, as I wrote before she could just make a small detour by two meters. I guess she had a bad day (life?) and overreacted heavily. Even the other waiters and the bouncer thought so, but even worse - the manager didn’t even try to have a conversation and acted many times more rude and agressive towards us than whatever had happened in the nice conversation we had with her that she found so offensive. Let me once again add that we were a couple of two, sharing a bottle of wine a Wednesday evening. The level of their offensiveness here is beyond what I could even imagine in my wildest dreams. We are from
Sweden but live in a big city in south east Asia and this treatment reminded us why we would never move back to Sweden. So communication with this waitress was no issue as we speak the same language. Management issues x 1000 at this place. Avoid at all costs, especially if you have some pride, but also if you have really low expectations of how you’d like to be treated. This is supposedly a fancy expensive place, so the shock of how we were treated is even greater. Never spending my money here again, not one single Swedish krona.
