Pontus Frithiof has opened a new neighbourhood restaurant on Fleminggatan on Kungsholmen. The restaurant is nicely decorated in colonial style, with a familiar feel that also reflects the food. The foundation is French inspired by ancient French colonies such as Vietnam and Morocco.
For starters, we shared all the snacks such as boquerones, crisps with whitefish roe dip, bread with butter and carrot hummus and a vegetable mess - perfect snacks that were tasty and just right large.
The starters consisted of Vietnamese nems, deep-fried spring rolls, whole cooked artichoke with browned shallot butter and Moroccan steak tartare. Everything was very good, especially the steak tartare which with its Moroccan twist was something new, and it comes from a steak tartare connoiseur!
For the main course we took veal schnitzel that was very good in itself and was served with good Parmesan butter, but was unfortunately destroyed by a mountain of caramelized onions that tasted strange, and a perfectly steamed sea bass with pliaff rice and a lovely curry sauce.
The prices were good and the staff was nice. I'd be happy to go back here!
