We had spent the evening at a large gathering in the Winter Garden and arrived around 00.10 at the Cardier Bar. Here it is announced that the bar will close shortly. We order drinks for our friends who are on their way with our jackets and bags from Grands Vinterträdgård. There is one possibly two more guests in the section we are sitting. Mats Eden, one of Sweden's finest fiddlers, is asked by us to play a card on his fiddle. Weakly. He is asked to stop because he is disturbing the others. My friend is refused entry when she arrives with our bags and jackets even though a drink is ordered. It's not 1:00 a.m. yet. She goes in and the Head Waiter follows and scolds her. "What was it that you didn't understand?" We are all dressed for the occasion and in a good mood and calm, we are only 6 people in the party, two of us are celebrating their wedding anniversary. The waiter continues in a rude tone to explain that the staff are taking buses home and he is also taking them and that they want to finish work on time. It is not yet 1:00 a.m. A thoroughly unpleasant experience to which we never return. The way you imagine Stockholm can be when it's at its worst. And we love Stockholm.
Should be added that when we e-mail, we get a kind of apology from the bar manager but no party that can make us come back.

We set ourselves up for waiting list for tables at the window and were told by the courtier that it would take about 30-40 minutes to get such a table. After 45 minutes we go and ask if there were tables available which there was not. We'll find out we were next in luck on the waiting list.
Three tables became vacant after about 1.5 hours and we then went forward to get one of the tables. We were then very unpleasantly treated and were not offered a table but told to go and sit down to wait further.
We understood then that the staff choose guests based on who the guest is and thus do not offer tables on the waiting list but what the guest in question is assumed to eat and drink. The service and response can be considered nothing short of substandard and are under all criticism for a hotel like the Grand Hotel.
Discriminates against guests.
