Then you have opened a new restaurant with very nice decor (considering how the venue looked like before). We were the night it opened. Has tested many, many restaurants in town and around the world. This evening we got chansade and in all cases the place to test the new place at 6.30 pm Friday night. However, we just sit around if we could finish before 20:00. The first thing we thought about was the music that was tremendously strong for a restaurant with a bar at the time. I measured the volume up to about 85 to 90 db in my little mobile app (poor staff). We ordered a bottle of red and a Rib and a fillet of beef. I am not a mushroom lover, so I asked if I could change champinjonragun to something else, such as French fries. It was possible to arrange. The food comes in at ok time. Entrecôten is good and quite hefty. Served with a green salad and fries and a seasoned herb butter (which tastes a bit like Café de Paris). Fillet of beef, on the other hand, is very boring. I think it's the worst steak I have eaten. It was thin and probably utbankad. Cooked too stressful and tasted more like a vakumpackad tenderloin from long gone or a bad Sirloin steak from the supermarket. It was sad quite easily. We got French fries to both rights (because I opted out of the sponge). It was the usual dull variant which I guess are purchased complete from Matsäljarna. At this type of restaurant would of course love to have French fries they made on their own and no one dozen to be heated. In addition, resting my beef tenderloin on a bed of mushrooms that look like ordinary burkchampinjoner as been heated with soya to get some dark color (Yes, my partner provsmakade dom). But I got my mushrooms that I had opted out. In addition, it was a foie gras (which I think they called seared foie gras on the menu) on top of meat scraps. I really don't know exactly what it was, but it tasted not as something in the vicinity of foie gras I've eaten before. It was more like something that is mixed up with a lot of other things and tasted more pith than foie gras. When the waiter asked what we thought, so we answered that Entrecôten was good, but the fillet of beef was very dull. "Oh, sorry", it received in reply. Nah, it was night and stressed staff. But it was not ok. It was not good. It wasn't as good as it should be at a restaurant. I had made better food at home ... and I'm not a chef. I usually put it as required. That, if I go out and eat it should simply taste better than when I do it myself. But this evening it had failed. Probably because the raw material was not top class. Perhaps we did as best as we could in the kitchen, but it was not something I would give even 3 stars. Hope you have better you before I show up again. If you want to choose authentic French food, then there's La Facille a few blocks away that hold much higher class or the French on the other side of Sveavägen. And good meat can be bought around the corner on Lennart & Brother.

The food was just not up to standard and the service by one waiter in particular was not befitting of the place. I wanted to go for the Entrecote however asked the waiter for his recommendation, he suggested I went for the char instead of the Entrecote. I took one bite and did not like it. It was tasteless and the texture was like 'steamed cod', very bad recommendation by the waiter. It was very unappetising, so I shared my husband's entrecote instead because the fish costs 235kr. Later the same waiter came to clear the table and asked if everything was good, I commented mine was tasteless and seeing my barely touched plate, his responded defensively ' that's too bad because it is a very tasty fish and full of flavour'. I said I should have gone for the entrecote, he responded condescendingly ' that's a SAFE option' as though speaking to someone 'uncultured'. He was just not having any criticism or feedback. For my toddler son, they brought a plate of inedible heavily salted chips, you can taste and feel all the salt they poured on it and a very dry grilled chicken that tasted old. An hour later my son got food poisoning. My husband was the happiest with his entrecote. Horrible food and waiter.

Har många gånger åkt förbi Brasserie Balzac och haft haft den länge på min att vilja gå hit lista.
Hamnade här på middag efter ett teaterbesök. Här fanns det inte rum för att hålla någon konversation vad de andra tyckte. Det är högt i tak och ljudvolymen är uppskruvad till max till råga på allt stod det en DJ i bardelen som körde nattklubbsmusik. Som Mimmi tidigare skrivit inredningen och miljön är en femma. Den passar helt ihop med vad jag förväntade mig av Balzac. Högt i tak, stora speglar på väggarna går i franska toner.
Hur kommer sig det att stället enbart får två stjärnor? Maten och servicen. Vi hade ett bord bokat. Väl framme vid hovmästaren tog det näst intill 10 minuter att ordna då de hade missat att planera in vår bokning. Stället var i princip tomt och inte fylldes de på mera under kvällen.
Jag äter lite av allas mat på restaurang och delar gärna av min egen. Musslorna som vi fick in var nästintill iskalla, serverade klassisk musselgryta. Inget speciellt råvaran framgick knappt. Näst upp var råbiffen och de är den sämsta jag ätit på länge. De gör ett försök till innovation genom att servera den rundad med skedar. Jag föredrar en köttpuck. Den kändes också som den precis togs ur kylen innan servering. Inpackat i råbiffen var kapris. På tallriken fanns även friterad pepparrot (?) i strimlor som smakade unket. Några ynkliga salladsblad fanns även på tallriken. Sista rätten var smörstekt torskrygg med trattkantareller. Ett par kantareller fanns på tallriken men torsken var alldeles för salt. Till torsken serverades mandelpotatispuré. Detta var överlägset bästa rätten. Allt med smör är gott. Generellt var pommesen helt okej, verken bra eller dåliga.
Servicen var sådär måttligt intresserade när vi skulle beställa vin och mat. Sedan kändes det inte bättre när många fick sin mat före oss runt omkring som kommit betydligt mycket senare) och vi fick vänta i nästan 50 minuter. De plockade även undan tallrikar fast samtliga i sällskapet inte hade ätit klart. Betala gick fort som tusan.
Kommer jag att gå hit igen? Kanske om jag vill betala ett överprisat glas bubbel i sommar på deras uteservering som resten av alla stockholmare :)

Jag hade vänner från ett par andra städer på besök och vi skulle ge oss ut på en söndagsbrunch. Balzac var mitt sällskaps önskan - och iom att jag njutit många middagsbesök tidigare år på Balzac så gick vi dit. Dessvärre blev vi alla rätt besvikna; utöver att servicen glappade (beställdes två drinkar, bara en fick den andra glömdes bort, fel öl kom ut vid upprepade tillfällen - kändes som om att personalen inte kommunicerade alls) och maten var inte helt 100. Till eggs Benedict kom någon tinad röra till spenat som utgjorde mer än halva upplägget, och burgaren var torr. Däremot beställde vi även en vegansk sallad som var väldigt trevlig. Ingen brunch är fulländad utan ostron, och dessa var väldigt utsökta. Kommer däremot definitivt inte gå tillbaks på brunch på Balzac, och kommer förmodligen avstå vanlig meny också ett tag framöver tills de samlat sig lite med personalen

Have been here twice now and really disappointed with the food both times. The first time was a raw steak that was pressed together into an oblong ball and grew in its mouth. The other day I ate mussels where every other one was inedible, clearly noticed that they were mussels of poor and cheap quality. So the food is not to recommend at all but I have received very nice service on both occasions and it is a lovely room with najs atmosphere
