Ate at the animal tonight for the first time. The visit was successful right through. The service was absolutely klandrig, did a great job throughout. Tonight was served ox. One could choose between a 3-course (600) or a 6-course (750), as well as two small dishes that you could add (about 100 SEK). We took the first and added a of extravalen.
First came the extravalet, the perfect fried flank steak with Arugula, crispy potato slices (very much like the French firm with pure potato sense) and "köttbearnaise". A steak with Béarnaise sauce doesn't get any better than this. Then came the starter, a steak tartare with whitefish ROE, baked äggulekräm, picklad onion, mm. Very good, though not perfect. The main course was served a oxvariation consisting of a medium-rare sirloin, lamb in place and mousseline-sausages with winter truffle. Served with creamy cauliflower, roasted pointed cabbages, märgstekt panko and bordeaux-jus. Absolutely delicious. Took a piece of cheese before dessert and really was the dessert, the only thing that wasn't great, but dessert is still nothing for me, so it wasn't that bothered me.
I'm really more for modern innovative cuisine. The animal is clearly more to the classic, but I appreciated it.
The environment is classic, but still a little conceptual (which I always like), and very quiet. That calm that you will stand out if you are a bigger guy gangs for example. At the same time, I would probably not call it a dejtställe. Would think to go here with my parents, for business purposes, and in quieter times with friends.
They have only one sitting per evening, and not too many tables. That is why it is very difficult to get a table, and you must be in good time.

Så mysigt ställe, perfekt för att fira! Jag och killen firade hans födelsedag på Djuret. Vi åt kammussla till förrätt och ryggbiff/oxfilé med potatis och sås till varmrätt. Så gott! Mysig och murrig miljö, trevlig och hjälpsam personal. Fick vänta på varmrätten ca 1 tim, men det informerade också personalen om redan vid beställningen. Fick bra rekommendationer på vin. Dyrare prisklass, men absolut värt pengarna. Kan verkligen inte säga någonting som skulle kunnat bli bättre!

Have long wanted to eat at the Animal and the other day I got the chance. The visit got off to a good start when we were placed in the bar, you who follow me may know that it is my favorite place. The restaurant's décor is a bit hunting lodge meets frans Bisto . Green, red, velvet, leather and animal heads. Although it sounds strange, it fits, very cozy and personal. I like it!
Now for dinner. We had to choose between 3 or 5 dishes. We chose 5 plus 2 snacks. Don't they. Gets too much, especially if you take the bone marrow as a snack. Satiating and too big (to be a talk) I also like that the menu does not contain any dessert as I am more of an appetizer than dessert. The food was a dream. We started with snacks consisting of rind chips with dip and bone marrow with bleak roe. Megagott. The first dish on the actual menu was my favorite, Carpaccio on scallop and lobster with aged tomato vinegar, absolutely damn insane was it. Then came the Lightly-groomed and baked rainbow trout, Crispy fried pork side and pork cheek, Fried breast of spring chicken and broke-cold chicken mousseline with thigh confit and finally the evening second best dish, Lamb outer filet fried 48 °C, ramson-filled crispy brisket and smoked heart. Incredibly good! Then we rolled home!
Definitely coming back for a datenight. Would love to visit Burgundy and the indoor courtyard in the summer!
