I've walked past this café for so many years, thinking that I'll go in someday but forgot about it time and time again. Then I happened to end up here a couple of weeks ago and got such a great feeling when I stepped in! Such a cozy atmosphere and extremely nice staff. Turned out that the guy was the owner of the café and that his mother had baked the bread I was recommended for breakfast. The bread was so incredibly good! It really tasted freshly baked.
Then I was back again for lunch and then we had pie, also baked by the owner's mother. The pie was amazingly good as well. Spinach pie (there were several different varieties) that was very juicy and perfectly cooked. Many pies tend to be too dry and crumbly, I think, but not this one. I really can't complain, other than that 140 SEK feels a bit much for a pie at a café. At the same time, it tastes so much better than in "regular cafés", so still worth it I think.
The environment is cozy, old photographs and various details. It's liked! Not the typical sterile environment. Above all, it is the cozy feeling of this café that makes the café out of the ordinary, I think. It's such a cozy and warm feeling. It is probably due both to the fact that you feel that it was baked with love and that the staff and the owner are so nice!

If you long for good coffee with "Söder Vibes" in Östermalm, then you should definitely visit Café Kringlan! Background: family business run by cool, drop-off, hip couple who like to talk to their customers whether they are older or young. Personally, I liked the atmosphere as soon as I stepped into the café. The music was in place, the barista with linen and tattoos greets happy and is in the dot mood :)! Very nice reception when he wondered how he could help me? I, however, had been stuck in pictures on the road and the sign that said "1923" forgot for a while what did I order! it was like a movie scene!
In any case, as bad luck, there was not much to choose from when it came to coffee bread or pies. (their mother bakes pies and is head responsible for the pastry/ bakery bit and on that particular day she was free). I had read about Kringlan has really good homemade coffee bread and pies, even sandwiches but for my part it was just coffee.
Interesting that the owner (Patrik- barista boy with tatoos) came in the premises 6 years ago as interior designer but later he took over the pretzel. Kringlan has many permanent customers and most are older women who buy bread and buns and stay for "chit chat sessions" with Patrik, how nice!
