Review of Umgänget – by Pete M.

These guys get it. There’s people of all types that are regulars here. To people who speak Swedish, Umgänget means togetherness, unity. The people who hung around at the last bar they owned are now regulars at this place. The concept is simple, music, people, booze, and dancing - nothing flashy. If you’re familiar with Stockholm you’d know that every bar in town has been accused of being racist by someone who got kicked out over the years. Some of these allegations make sense but I laugh at anyone making them against this place because if you go there you’ll see a crowd that looks far more diverse than the rest of the neighborhood and welcomes people from other places a lot more.

The DJ talent reminds me of what you’d find in New York with people doing true proper call outs and other stuff that you’d only be used to seeing in NYC. There’s also a couple DJs on a lot of nights so you can switch it up if one is not working for you.

The bar is busy because the club is busy, which is another reason you’ll find weird reviews. They’re less than a year old and the lines have been longer than the rest of the bars on the street.

I’ve enjoyed the style of raw goodness of Umgänget. As ODB said, “Oh baby, we like it raw!!!!”.
