At Slussen in Stockholm you will find, if you look behind the building plank, the cozy bar Lilla Compagniet that we have long been eager to visit. The venue is truly charming with art deco-inspired décor and a menu of signature cocktails with fun names like Fr Sigrid's Drink Against Hiccups. Unfortunately, the initial delight is quickly broken when nothing is quite as it should. The bar itself is inexplicably bathed in cold light that kills the atmosphere. The signature drinks are either long drinks or sweet of fruit. Not necessarily wrong, but not to our liking. The menu itself is many pages long and contains many classics, but is completely disorganized so that you are sorry that you do not find anything suitable. We ask if they can mix our benchmark drink, but they don't know about it and after showing them the recipe they say they don't have one of the ingredients. It's okay and has happened before, but then we actually see the bottle on the shelf. This is when we realize that the bartender does not know different types of liquor and is simply not qualified to stand behind a bar. On the wall we see a nostalgic advertising sign about absinthe, and we therefore ask for a drink with absinthe. The bartender explains that they do not have it, because the owner said that it is forbidden in Sweden (!!). Now is the time to pay and go, because this is obviously not for us. Whether we have been unlucky and run into a substitute, or if the bar is going downhill due to a declining crowd, is hard to say. But we are disappointed and will hardly come back. 🥃👎

Vi gled in här före en middag en fredagkväll. Inredning gav mig finlandsfärja vibbar med heltäckningsmattor och runda fotöljer.
Vi beställde varsin drink som kom oroväckande fort, och smakade dessvärre därefter. Jag beställde en Paloma som jag tycker är ett safe card och som jag druckit väldigt många gånger. Dessvärre smakade den inte alls paloma, den smakade dessvärre ingenting :(
När vi skulle betala så frågade han vad jag ville lägga för totalbelopp (summa + dricks). Jag fick alltså inte trycka in beloppet själv vilket gjorde mig lite ställd. Sedan fick jag inte heller något kvitto, så egentligen kunde han tryckt in vad som helst... Detta och min tråkiga drink drar tyvärr ner mitt betyg :(
