At the classic Radisson Collection Strand Hotel Stockholm on the Nybroviken waterfront you'll find The Strand, a Swedish brasserie that pays homage to classic Scandinavian cuisine in relaxed surroundings. Breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner are served, and there's an intimate bar where you can hang out and enjoy a drink.
The Strand's menu reflects the seasons and uses organic and locally-produced ingredients. You'll always find the restaurant's signature dishes collected under the heading "The Strand Vintage" on the menu.
The celebrated architect firm Wingårdhs have helped create the restaurant's stylish interiors combining classic design details and innovative touches. The colour scheme is inspired by natural materials such as stone, wood, leather, metal and plaster. But there are also extravagant elements such as velvet furniture, deep, rich tones and luxurious materials which reflect the hotel's decadent past as a meeting place for some of Stockholm's most colourful characters.
The menu is illustrated with a drawing called "Regulars at the Strand", drawn by artist Ernst Åkerbladh in 1928. It depicts the famous names of the day such as actor Gösta Ekman, artists Isaac Grünewald and Sigrid Hjertén and actresses Mimi Pollack and the great Greta Garbo, who was a regular guest when visiting Sweden.
