I don't know much but I know you can have a absolutely magical evening inside the walls of the Asian Post Office!
The location is perfect, above Kungsgatan, close to Stockholm's hot pulse and nightlife but still a bit secluded. When you arrive, you will be greeted by a modest outdoor dining area with simple tables and chairs where the sun is on until late afternoon. We started what would only be an early dinner with a drink out on the terrace. Thai Basil was the choice and it was a perfect start! Gin, lemon and Thai basil topped with coconut foam so it was completely impossible to drink without getting a lovely coconut milk mustache, which contributed to more than a laugh.
Once it was time for dinner, wine stepped into the dining room that was so much bigger and more beautiful than the outside suggested. It was the stripped-down Asian look that met a Nordic softness in a harmonious way. It never got bare and boring, but at the same time clean and calm to the eye, a fantastically lovely atmosphere.
We were shown to our table by a nice waiter. There we brought in a bottle of sparkling wine that was both tasty and affordable. We ordered several dishes and shared – which is honestly the only thing to do once you visit the Asian Post Office – and they came in different batches so it was a lovely float in dinner!
We ate Hot cucumber that was so strong that it burned but it never took over, Seared salmon sashimi with truffles and leeks that were perfectly balanced, APO's sweet-strong tempura prawns where the portion was so generous that it never ran out, Fried broccoli with misodressing and peanut crust that was absolutely fantastic! But by far the best was the kimchi steambun with pork belly and applesauce. Often these steambun are poorly filled but it was generous with pork and the flavor combination was amazing!
Dinner was supposed to be just an AW but we had such a good time that we were happy to stay. When our sitting was over, they had reserved a table in the bar for us where we continued the evening. On arrival it was quiet but the later the evening went on the more the pulse and pressure increased. We continued our evening with more drinks and tried both the drink Lemongrass with gin, sake and ginger and the drink Cucumber with Gin, lime, elderflower cucumber and soda. In addition, we got to taste some of the bartender's custom-made drinks and all of them were of high quality! But Cucumber is probably the winner after all.
How it happened is yet another enthing meme suddenly stood also the most well-balanced Hot shot I have ever seen in front of me. This too was of course of a high level! Is there anything to complain about? Absolutely nothing! The atmosphere, the food, the drink, the room and the staff delivered in the absolute best way and you will see me there very soon again!

I'm more than happy! Although APO may not have delivered anything more special than other Asian fusion restaurants, I was completely sold.
The drinks felt very thoughtful and fresh and had wanted to test them all on the menu as everyone we ordered delivered. The room was nice and loves that we sat at a round table! The staff were really nice and knowledgeable and gave good recommendations on both drinks and food.
We couldn't be happier with the food. The shrimp popcorn and the fried oysters are a must when you come here! I didn't really like oysters. All the dishes were really worth ordering.
Perfect place to come here both on a date or with a group of friends! I can't wait for October when I'm going to visit APO again!
