Taylor Swift takes over Stockholm - three sold-out concerts at Friends Arena

For the first time ever, American superstar Taylor Swift is coming to Stockholm. She'll be performing at three sold-out concerts at Friends Arena in Solna on the 17th, 18th and 19th May. The city now awaits an influx of excited “Swifties”, as her fans call themselves. Read on to find out everything you need to know about the concerts.

Preparations for the concerts

Friends Arena in Solna, just north of the city centre, is ready to welcome thousands of visitors with its impressive capacity of around 60,000 concertgoers. The arena has prepared to manage the huge influx of Swift fans with clearly marked sections and detailed maps of the seating to ensure a smooth experience for everyone.

Getting to and from Friends Arena

There are several options if you're planning to travel to Friends Arena. The promoters recommend public transport as the easiest way to travel. You can get to the arena easily by commuter train, underground, cross rail or bus. You don't need to buy a ticket in advance, you can just blip your bank card when you pass the turnstiles in the underground and train stations or as you step onto buses.

If you'd rather take your car, there are a few ways to make your journey hassle free. There are 3,700 parking spots at the Westfield Mall of Scandinavia but they fill up quickly on event days. It's often quicker and easier to park your car a little way away from the arena and then walk or take public transport for the last bit. You can also park your car at a nearby commuter train station and jump on the train straight to the concert.

Restaurants close to Friends Arena

There are plenty of restaurants and cafés in the area around Friends Arena where you can go to enjoy something to eat or drink before or after the concerts.

Inside the Westfield Mall of Scandinavia, the S2 food court has 650 seats and serves food from all over the world. La Botanica inside the mall serves an enormous buffet with flavours from America, Italy and Asia. A short stroll away is the popular Korvbyrån, where you can get a good quality hot dog, and close to the arena, the huge Taste restaurant serves up a taco buffet with options to suit all tastes.

If you want to enjoy a cocktail with fantastic views, head up to the rooftop terrace of the Mall of Scandinavia or The Social sky bar.

There are also plenty of bars, restaurants and kiosks inside the arena area.

Tickets for Taylor Swift's “Eras Tour” in Stockholm

Around 200,000 tickets for Taylor Swift's three concerts in Stockholm have been sold. Although the tickets sold out almost immediately, fans are keeping an eye on ticket resale sites in the hope of getting their hands on a ticket. Expectations are sky high as Taylor Swift's previous shows have set a high standard.

If you're on the hunt for a ticket you can try various sites to find a secondhand ticket. But prices are often extremely high and there's always a risk of getting scammed. Make sure you use the Ticketmaster app when transferring tickets.

Are tickets non-transferable?

It used to be the case that tickets were personal and that whoever bought the ticket needed to be present for entry. But after a huge amount of criticism Ticketmaster changed their policy and made tickets transferable. They also introduced their Ticket Transfer function which makes it possible to send your ticket to other concertgoers in a secure way.
