Visited Odette one Saturday and spotted the earlier of the bistro's sittings. Lovely little gem on one of the charming streets in the Linnaeus area. The bistro is perfect for the intimate date, but the same night me and my ditto visited the restaurant, a family with both children and grandparents also dinnerd in the small room which only made the place even more homely!
Emma, who together with her husband Mathias runs the restaurant, took care of us with a warm hand. Personal and relaxed, without becoming private. Professional simply.
We started with a glass of bubbly and a beer, and soon an assiette arrived with sourdough bread and salted butter to tease the appetite and expectations for the rest of the evening. I chose the main course of the evening - wild boar loin with potato puree and butter-fried Brussels sprouts with sage, blueberries and a divine hazelnut sauce. All right in my opinion, you had me at Salvia ;)
My company chose entrecôte with roasted marrow, haritcot verts, onion and red wine sky with libb stick from the bistro's Plats Principeaux (main courses), and was ridiculously pleased. Perfect roasting on the meat and side dishes was absolutely brilliant.
Being a cheese-lover like no other, I couldn't help but go for four variations of cow's milk cheeses to finish dinner. Emma selected and served me cheeses of lovely variety paired with salt-roasted sourdough bread and home-cooked quince marmalade. Rich red wine dinner through for me, light lager for the date.
We couldn't be more pleased with the evening and our high expectations were incorporated in every way. The setting is also relaxingly inviting with subdued light, a small but seat-friendly bar and the large window out towards Olivedalsgatan and the flaneurs outside gave the visit just the perfect setting. The fact that the weather also surprised with a heavy rainstorm followed by hail only added even greater coziness inside the room with candlelight and talkative music in the speakers.
