Although it bears a common name for a pub, The Blue Posts in Rupert Street is out of the ordinary. This Georgian building has Grade II listed status and houses a venue with some serious gastro credentials. The pub has existed since 1739, and in 2017 it was restored by top chefs the Selby brothers to become an exciting new space with three venues packed into one.
The pub has a rich navy blue exterior and intricate Georgian windows. Outdoor tables are available or you can perch at the bar in a classic pub interior that's full of deep and colourful tones. The Blue Posts specialises in British craft beers, with a rotating selection on offer. Beer bottles and cans are also available, plus an international wine list that's a nod to The Mulwray, the wine bar that occupies the top floor of the space.
With an in-house Michelin-starred restaurant, you can be confident that the bar snacks here are a cut above peanuts and pork scratchings. There's a curated menu of seasonal bites that often use locally-sourced ingredients. Try options like a lamb and cumin sausage roll, a selection of British seasonal cheeses, or marinated anchovies as the ideal accompaniment to a craft pint here. If the bar food whets your appetite, check out Evelyn's Table in the building's former beer cellar. This is an intimate chef's table encounter restaurant where you can have a highly exclusive fine dining experience. Whilst The Blue Posts has been a pub for centuries, it's now evolved into a unique Soho destination.
