Whitehall's Old War Office to become an exciting new food hall

Food halls are certainly popular in London and the trend looks set to continue. In 2023 Westminster’s historic Old War Office in Whitehall will become the latest food hall to hit the city. Due to be renamed The OWO, the place will be home to nine different restaurants and three bars. You can expect great standards too – it’s being run by the team behind top hotel chain Raffles.

The historic building will be a unique space for dining. This iconic landmark is Grade II listed and played a key role in both World Wars and the Cold War. It’s also home to Winston’s Churchill’s former office. In addition to the food hall, parts of the building are being converted into a hotel complete with an in-house cinema, communal lounges, and wellness spaces.

Most of the restaurants and bars that’ll be setting up in The OWO have yet to be announced. The first name that we can confirm is Paper Moon, an upscale Italian eatery. This restaurant will be the first UK location from the international chain, which has locations in Istanbul, Doha, Hong Kong, and Milan amongst others. Expect classic recipes made from seasonal ingredients, served in a warm and intimate setting. The OWO is currently set to open in spring 2023.
