Two London restaurants among the 20 new Michelin Bib Gourmands this year

Ahead of the heavily anticipated reveal of this year's Michelin Star winners in Great Britain and Ireland next week, the Michelin Guide has announced the 2024 recipients of the Bib Gourmand. Twenty new restaurants have joined the ranks of restaurants offering great value cooking, including two in London.

The Michelin Bib Gourmand is a respected award that celebrates restaurants that perhaps do not fit in the fine dining framework so beloved by the Michelin Guide, but offer exceptional food at more budget-friendly prices and in more relaxed settings. While not as prestigious as a Michelin Star, the Bib Gourmands are a result of the Michelin Guide's attempts at being more accessible to a broader public and reflect the dining habits and preferences of the average diner.

In 2024, 20 new restaurants in Great Britain and Ireland received the Bib Gourmand, highlighting the great quality and value of their cooking. Of the 20, two of them can be found right here in London. Les 2 Garçons is a classic French bistro already recognised in 2023 as London's best local restaurant, while the recently opened Empire Empire in Notting Hill comes from the founder of Gunpowder and serves affordable Indian fare in a 1970s disco-inspired space.
