There's a big cultural celebration coming up in Croydon

Last week we brought you news that Wandsworth has been named as the new London Borough of Culture, replacing the outgoing borough of Croydon. As Croydon passes the baton to another South London borough, it's going out with a bang with a closing weekend of exciting cultural activities. Taking place between 22nd and 24th March, Croydon Remix includes a host of events taking place at various locations.

Croydon Clocktower will be turned into a beacon of light throughout the celebrations, plus there will be lots of action going on nearby. You'll be able to watch an eclectic variety of street performances, join a carnival of dance and puppets, and enjoy live gigs from some of the borough's top performers covering genre as diverse as gospel and sitar music. Other highlights include creative workshops, the smallest nightclub in the world, and illuminated art installations to light up the area.

There's so much happening across the three days of the event, and most activities are free to attend. To find out more about what's going on, check out Croydon's official London Borough of Culture website.
