Londoners can experience Taiwanese culture without leaving the capital

Taiwan might be pretty far away from London but a new cultural festival is bringing its vibrancy to the capital. Taiwan Festival kicks off on 12th April and continues until 27th April at Notting Hill's The Coronet Theatre, showcasing the work of more than 30 Taiwanese visual artists, theatre-makers, musicians, and dancers. This is the first time that the majority of them have shown their work in the UK. 

The festival has a varied and exciting programme that'll cover a wide range of subjects including Taiwan's colonial history, Taiwanese identity, politics, and sexuality. Highlights of the event include a bamboo installation for the theatre by acclaimed artist Cheng Tsung Feng, who will be creating the new artwork throughout the festival's duration and also running creative workshops, a groundbreaking VR theatre experience, and the launch of a new album by singer-songwriter Yujun Wang with two intimate musical performances.
