London is ranked as the best European capital for art lovers

We already know that London is one of the world's great hotspots for art, design, fashion, music, and culture, but a new study has officially ranked it as the best capital city in Europe for art lovers. E-commerce platform Ubuy has done the hard work and calculated the top 20 capitals in Europe for art fans and London came in joint first position alongside Paris. Other cultural hotbeds it beat to the top position include Berlin, Rome, and Reykjavik.

Ubuy looked at a range of data including the number of art galleries in each city, the number of galleries that are free to visit, the number of public statues and monuments, and the amount of street art. Each city was given a score for each criteria, with a maximum score of 172. London (and our pals in Paris) both scored 166 points across all four categories. London was ranked highly for its huge number of art galleries, monuments, and street art pieces. Ubuy also noted the number of street art works by Banksy in the city as being a big draw, including his newest work that sprang up in North London last month.

You can read all of Ubuy's findings on their website. Now you know that the city is an unbeatable destination for art, why not explore it for yourself?
