HappyCow says London is still the world's most vegan-friendly city

At the end of 2022, we brought you news that London had topped the rankings of the world's most vegan-friendly cities according to the influential veggie and vegan online directory HappyCow. Now they've released their newest rankings and, once again, London has come out on top. The city triumphed over other destinations in the top 10 such as Berlin, Barcelona, and Los Angeles.

Happy Cow have again based the rankings on a number of different factors. As well as a qualitative assessment, they consider the number of fully vegan restaurants in each city centre, the total number of fully vegan businesses in the city, the number of restaurants each city has listed on HappyCow, the density of vegan businesses per capita, and an assessment of the growth of vegan businesses in each city since the last report.

London continued to top the charts in spite of a 22% decrease in vegan businesses since the last rankings in 2022. Even so, central London has 161 fully vegan restaurants, there are more than 350 vegan businesses in total, and there are almost 2,000 London listings on HappyCow. The site noted that veganism is a mainstream lifestyle choice in London, helping to make it the best place to be if you're plant-based.
