Fight negativity with the return of Turnips' tasting menu initiative

Borough Market restaurant Turnips is bringing back its successful 'Fight THE SYSTEM' initiative this spring, offering a unique and sustainable approach to help combat the pervasive negative news and societal issues.

From 16 April to 11 May, the restaurant, led by chef Tomas Lidakevicius and his team, will offer their tasting menus at almost half their usual cost, expanding accessibility to their premium dining experience with top-notch produce. The menus will creatively utilise surplus ingredients and wonky produce from their kitchen, market, and even suppliers, aiming to transform these overlooked items into sources of delight and innovation.

According to chef Tomas, the initiative was born out of a desire to counter general discontent and indifference, focusing on celebrating seasonal produce with Turnips' distinctive culinary flair. Encouraged by last year's enthusiastic reception, they're eager to showcase this season's fresh offerings, inviting both repeat and new patrons to experience their dynamic culinary journey.

Complementing the menu, the wine selections, in partnership with B-Corp certified Tasca d'Almerita, will echo the sustainable ethos, favouring natural and biodynamic wines that emphasise minimal environmental impact.

Bookings for the 'Fight THE SYSTEM' tasting menus are open via the restaurant website or by phone.
