Fashionistas can join the London Hat Walk this weekend

London is home to its fair share of quirky events and activities, and this weekend is no exception. The London Hat Walk is taking place on 7th April and this year it's extra-special. The event marks the 10th anniversary of London Hat Week, an annual celebration of all things millinery, and will be run in collaboration with other hat walk groups from cities around the world.

Starting at 1pm at St James's Church in Piccadilly, professional milliners, vintage lovers, cosplayers, crafters, re-enactors, and general hat lovers will parade around town showcasing their finest headgear. Anyone is welcome to join in the fun but the one very important rule is that you must be wearing a hat if you wish to participate. The walk lasts approximately 90 minutes. Because it's a special anniversary edition of the event, a milliner surplus sale will be taking place on 6th and 7th April at the church. You'll find some of the city's top milliners selling headgear and surplus materials.

Hat Walks originated in Barcelona in 2014 and the tradition has since spread to cities around the world including Seoul, Oslo, Buenos Aires, and of course, London. Find out more about the day on the London Hat Week website.
