Discover the tradition of egg decorating on a one-day course

Painting Easter eggs is a long-standing tradition, especially in Eastern Europe. Easter might have passed now but you can still explore this creative technique with a one day course at Southwark Cathedral on 20th April. During the course, attendees will learn about the ancient Ukrainian art of Pysanky, the country's traditional method of decorating eggs.

With the guidance of a skilled instructor, you'll learn about the history and symbolism of Pysanky and discover the tools and dyes that are used. You'll also get the chance to create your own decorated eggs and take them home at the end of the day. No experience is necessary to take part but there are a few pieces of kit you'll need to bring with you, including something to carry your delicate painted eggs home.
