Chishuru will soon be back near Oxford Circus and is launching a crowdfunding campaign

Many London diners were disappointed when West African restaurant Chishuru shut up shop in Brixton last year. The good news is that the restaurant is due to be back on the scene soon. Restaurant owner Adejoké Bakare has found a new site just five minutes from Oxford Circus and is now launching a crowdfunding campaign to get the new space ready for launch.

The new larger site will be set over two floors and have space for 50 diners. Bakare is aiming to raise £75,000 on Indiegogo to redesign the space, install new furniture and kitchen appliances, and pay for PR and marketing costs. If you're keen to get the new incarnation of the restaurant up and running you can invest and there are a range of perks you can enjoy if you do. These include a complimentary lunch or dinner for two people, your name on the Founder's Wall, cooking classes, and meal kits for home delivery. Another perk is to book Bakare to visit your home and cook for you.

Chishuru originally opened in Brixton in 2020 and despite opening during a tumultuous time has gone on to great success, winning multiple awards and being voted into the top 100 restaurants in the UK. Fixed lunch and dinner menus take you on a culinary journey around West Africa, with the modern dishes using time-honours processes and traditions.
