Taverna Averna is a very pleasant experience... Like Russian roulette but with the mood at play instead of life. Many times it is very good but it pops up those evenings that are hearty mood killers and makes you never want to visit a restaurant again. The 3rd can therefore symbolize a bowl where all bad and good evenings meet somewhere in the middle.
An international bistro that mainly offers pizza varied in season (145KR), pasta, meat, chark, cheese and other small dishes (125-295kr). But you can count on you to find one and another Swedish classics in the menu as well, such as meatballs and toast Skagen. Heads up: The pizza is hardly Neapolitan but resembles more an pumped purple red. As for the beverage, it is 100% organic and finely categorized by all corners of the world.
Aesthetically is just the first name and the venue is daredevil-rushed. A hundred paintings drawn by local artists decorate the white walls inside the air restaurant which is also very continental and nice-the room promises more than what is offered. But... I do the atmosphere and you can without problems spend a whole night here. They are good at drinks and there is a cocktail with elderberry in a magical good. A really nice and nice bar too!
You want to like the tavern but the service and waiting time is no fun occasionally. Sometimes it runs around ignorant, unengaged and slow staff who of course makes the service defective and to wait almost an hour on the food without being offered any hunger extinguisher, I think is superficial unprofessional. This is synonymous with about half of my visit and I will therefore never really hungry here. But I'm stubborn with going back when the food tastes good and is affordable. Has so far tasted me through their cod back, Löjromspizza, Råraka, mushroom gnocchi, crème brûlée, langos and potato/mushroom stomp. My absolute favorite so far is their vegetarian rösti-a crispy potato cake with mushrooms, herb cream, roasted onion and lingonberries!
If you are going here and eat, I recommend booking a table with good anticipation. May your turn be with you!
