I was surprised that Hasselbacken had such a low average rating as we really had a super good experience here!
We ate before we went to a concert at Cirkus, and oh my god - isn't the dining room / bar one of the finest rooms in Stockholm? I was completely overwhelmed by how beautiful and cozy it was. We got a table by the window and I really can't wish for more of the environment.
We have here a Monday during the pandemic - so thus it was very calm, but incredibly cozy.
Of course, we had to try the Hasselback potatoes with different toppings - all delicious. After that, we shared one of the starters which was a pumpkin with ricotta. Also delicious - just my kind of food. For the main course, it was fish, and oh how good it was! Really slurped in my sauce. Very well cooked and everything was of an incredibly good quality!
The only thing that was maybe a little worse was that it was a little slow serving. The waitresses were busy even though it wasn't crowded. But it was, as I said, during the pandemic and it wasn't a huge disaster or anything that had a huge impact like that. But maybe that's what makes it not a fiver.
Had a great experience overall!

Lunch on the terrace. Both my husband and I each ordered a summer salad with beeching. Very good😁. The outdoor terrace has been threatened with new furniture and the staff are super nice.

First time at this classic restaurant today. brunch. Corona times meant that there were quite a few parties, but at least they had put everyone in a part of the restaurant, which meant that they did not feel it was too empty. The menu felt reasonably up to date, if you compare it to the rest. Reasonably nice and varied brunch menu with middle dishes where two per person is just right. Me and my girlfriend shared four dishes: skagen, soup of the day (mushrooms), mushroom croquettes and reuben bagel.
The skagen toilet stone (topped with bleak roe) was very good. Would have liked the bread not only to be toasted though, but butterscotch like the bread we got for the soup (I just took it to the skagen, so it no problem, but think for the one who does not take the soup). The soup was good, but not wow. Reuben bagel was OK, a little uninteresting. Dry and quite a little meat but good mustard. OK bread. The mushroom croquets were perhaps the best, at least most surprisingly, since most people can make good skagen.
The food I would say was 3.5, so I thought a little about what rating to set, but then I came to the conclusion that it felt quite clear with 3 as a whole experience. The place feels a bit dated, both the room (perhaps diluted by a bit of the calmness) but also the service. Outdated in some way. Also think it is quite useless when you have a cup of tea, and get a rather small cup of warm water in, with Lavazza advertising on the cup and tea bag on the side. They're going to have to come up with a little hot if I'm going to come back. There is potential in the kitchen, but also in the room, which is actually very beautiful, and the location out on Djurgården with nice views.

Maybe it would have to hotta up a bit.. Very cozy environment both outside and inside, but the whole concept, the menu and the staff may need a re-investment!
Despite a nice setting the food is average and feels like it's been sitting there for a while. Only worth visiting for the dessert section and views. Try to get a table by the windows.
