Sunday in Brooklyn

A stylish Sunday in Brooklyn

We wouldn't blame you if you came here just to chow down on stacks of their glossy buttermilk pancakes doused in hazelnut maple praline and brown butter (just search them on Instagram, and you'll see what we mean). Sunday in Brooklyn takes brunch classics and zhuzhes them up, like the Deep South-inspired cheddar biscuits drowned in white sausage gravy and perfect poached eggs drizzled in hot sauce. The cocktails don't hold back, either - the Sunday Bloody swaps out the vodka for Mezcal Verde, giving it an added, welcoming smokiness. The space is stylish - just picture an area filled with potted plants, reclaimed wood beams and terracotta tiling.

Granger & Co.

Aussie cafe culture

Granger & Co. is a sunny all-day Australian café serving breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner in a stylish space on Notting Hill’s buzzy Westbourne Grove. Expect giant windows filtering in plenty of natural light, wood-filled decor, quirky artwork and an equally stylish clientele. The food is impressive; expect dishes like scrambled eggs on toasted Dusty Knuckle sourdough and ricotta hotcakes with banana and honeycomb butter. Drinks include a wide selection of wine from around the world, coffee, fresh juices, sodas, smoothies and shakes.

Farm Girl

Healthy Aussie classics

Farm Girl Café, located behind the pretty St Peters Church on Portobello Road, focuses mainly on healthy food inspired by Aussie coffee culture. Enjoy high-quality coffee and brunch, like apple and pear pancakes with vanilla bean and rosemary; Clarence Court scrambled eggs with Estate Dairy butter and a variety of chunky sandwiches. The restaurant is super funky, with blue and green chequered walls, hanging silver lamps and dark wooden floor.

Daylesford Organic

Seasonal and organic

Enjoy garden-fresh, seasonal produce from Daylesford’s own farm in the Cotswolds at Daylesford in Notting Hill. The organic menu is crafted with seasonality and sustainability in mind, with takes on classic favourites like pizza and burgers. Inside, the interior is minimal but stylish, with cross-sections of fallen trees from the farm presented as decorations and potted plants adding a splash of colour to the otherwise fairly neutral decor.

Cocotte

The ideal brunch spot

Cocotte is a French farm-to-table restaurant serving homemade rotisserie dishes with free-range chickens from Evron in the Loire Valley. The chicken is marinated for 24 hours in a homemade sauce that’s all made in-house, and then they’re chargrilled on the smokey grill to give them their distinct flavour. The brunch menu also features a range of sandwiches, like the truffle croque monsieur, chicken on croissant waffles and bottomless prosecco, champagne, fresh juices, smoothies, coffee and soft drinks. The restaurant is modern, bright and spacious and is the perfect brunch spot for catching up with old or new pals.
