Back in the late 19th century, this was the largest Victorian ragged school – a charity providing free education, lodging, and other necessities for the poorest children in the East End. Today, the Ragged School Museum takes a look at the school's three decades of operation, providing a glimpse of life in Victorian times in its authentically recreated classroom. As such, it's especially well-suited for children and school trips, and also organises immersive lessons. The Ragged School Museum is a popular film shoot location, and encompasses a lovely canalside café.
