Trivia: Suffragettes planned to blow up the Bishop's throne inside the cathedral in 1913 as a way to raise awareness for equal voting rights, but it failed to go off.

The seat of the Bishop of London, St. Paul’s Cathedral is a massive Grade I listed building that dominates the London skyline with its dome and is one of the city’s most famous sights.

The Anglican cathedral, the second largest church in the country, was built by acclaimed British architect Sir Christopher Wren after the Great Fire of 1666. Featuring one of the highest domes in the world, St. Paul’s Cathedral is regularly the location of services commemorating important events such as royal weddings, funerals and more. The tombs in the crypt are the final resting places of historical figures such as Admiral Horatio Nelson and the Duke of Wellington.

The grandiose landmark is open to visitors throughout the week, with regular daily services open to the public. In addition, you can visit the church for sightseeing and take in the majestic Cathedral floor, explore the crypts and learn about the history of the church and its national significance, for example the suffragette plot to blow the whole thing up. You can also scale the church dome and enjoy unparalleled views across the capital.

Art lovers will enjoy not just the church’s decor and the sculptures honouring important national figures, but also the temporary art exhibitions that are featured here. Additionally, St. Paul’s Cathedral hosts concerts, children’s activities and other events throughout the year.

Stunning architecture, well worth the entry to see it inside. You can go for free on Sunday as well, but you cant take any photos on that day.
