Where to watch Wimbledon in London

All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club

Tennis mecca

If you manage to get one of the highly desirable tickets in presale, congratulations, the doors to tennis heaven are open – enter and watch all the action at the historic grounds in person. If you don't have a ticket, it's the famous Queue for you. Wimbledon is one of the few major sports events where you can buy premium tickets on the day, and for some, the Queue is as much a part of the experience as the tennis itself, with its own rules and regulations.

Wimbledon Piazza

Technically still counts

It's not quite THE Wimbledon, but it does come without a wallet-busting price tag while still being close enough to the action to get at least a taste of the atmosphere. A big screen and deckchairs are set up on Wimbledon Piazza, and refreshments are available from the various dining and drinking outlets in the neighbourhood. There's no queueing to get in, either.

Group watch in Canary Wharf

In summer, Canary Wharf sets up big screens in Cabot Square and Canada Square Park, screening the season's most exciting sports events, including the Wimbledon Championships. Entry is free, and you can grab a picnic from the nearby Waitrose. Refreshments are available from The Grandstand Bar as well, and there are numerous restaurants and bars in the surrounding area.

Everyman Screen on the Canal

Canalside championship

In summer, King's Cross carpets the steps leading from Granary Square down to Regent's Canal, turning them into a comfy open-air lounge, and collaborates with Everyman Cinemas to set up a big screen on the opposite bank. Different films are screened here throughout summer, except during Wimbledon, when the screen is reserved for live matches. Sit back, gaze across the water, and watch the Wimbledon Championship in this unique location.

St Katharine Docks

Floating on the river

For the Wimbledon Championships, Central London's only marina sets up a big screen and comfortable deckchairs on its floating pontoon. Benches and tables are available as well, so you can grab a takeaway from one of the nearby restaurants, sit back, and enjoy the action. Entry is free, and there are drinks vendors on hand as well. The covered pontoon lets you watch Wimbledon in peace even if it rains.

Wimbledon in Covent Garden

Front row at the Garden

World-famous Covent Garden Market is a popular leisure destination in its own right, but they're taking things further for Wimbledon screenings. You can sit back and watch the centre-court drama on the iconic Piazza itself, with Wimbledon-inspired dining guaranteed at the area's many eateries, including the traditional strawberries and cream. You can even snazz up at the Polo Ralph Lauren shop nearby, the tournament's official outfitter.

The Dog & Fox

The Village pub

The Dog & Fox is a refined pub in the heart of Wimbledon, offering lodging within easy walking distance of the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club. It gets quite busy during the Championships as it's a great spot to watch Wimbledon, in no small part due to the irresistible combination of pub hospitality, good food and drink, pleasant outdoor spaces, and multiple screens broadcasting every stroke down the road.

Watch and play

An upscale redevelopment in Paddington, Merchant Square is a popular destination for waterfront chilling throughout the summer. You can watch Wimbledon on a big screen in the square, with free deckchairs and plenty of space for picnic blankets. A bar will be set up as well, and you'll even be able to try your hand at beach tennis, with a mini pop-up court set up on select days.

A Summer of Sport

Proper Wimbledon vibes in Belgravia

Belgravia's charming courtyard Eccleston Yards is hosting open-air live screenings of major sports events this summer, including the Wimbledon Tennis Championships, the Olympic Games, and the Tour de France. You'll be able to relax in colourful deckchairs, grab refreshments at various pop-ups, and watch the Wimbledon action just minutes from Victoria Station.

Borough Yards

The best snack game around

Located right next to world-famous culinary haven Borough Market, Borough Yards is a modern redevelopment with an abundance of leisure options. They're celebrating this year's Summer of Sport by setting up a big screen showing the Wimbledon Championships and the Paris Olympics. Celebrated local eateries such as Akara and Vinoteca will join in on the fun with pop-ups, special offers, and more.

Summer in the Square

Big screen in a private garden square

The historic Portman Square Garden in Marylebone is usually limited to estate residents only, but throws its gates open for various events throughout the year, including the popular Summer in the Square outdoor activities. These include screenings of the final week of Wimbledon, with the tranquil garden fitted with deckchairs.

Hammersmith Summer Festival

All the live sports action

The 17th edition of the Hammersmith Summer Festival is once again taking place in Lyric Square next to Hammersmith Station. They'll be showing the summer's major sports events across eight weeks, including Wimbledon, with free entry and deckchairs available as well.
