Take the kids skateboarding at the Design Museum

Under 16s can hit up the Design Museum's skate ramp during a limited run of Open Skate sessions.

London's Design Museum is hosting the UK's first major exhibition on skateboarding, “Skateboard”, until 2 June, and they've gone all out to commemorate the occasion, even building a proper skate ramp inside the museum itself. Throughout the duration of the exhibition, they're hosting Open Skate sessions where anyone aged 16+ can skate the ramp. During the winter holidays, however, they're opening up the ramp to young'uns as well.

From 27 December to 7 January, skateboarding organisation Skate Gals & Pals will be hosting skateboarding workshops for children ages 6 to 15. Participants need to be accompanied by at least one adult and should be able to comfortably skate around and balance on their skateboard, while equipment can be hired at the museum.

You can book an Open Skate session with Skate Gals & Pals here. Admission to “Skateboard” is included.
