Pioneering Spanish chef José Pizarro is setting his eyes on breakfast with new opening

Acclaimed chef and restaurateur José Pizarro is considered the godfather of Spanish cuisine in London, having helped kickstart the capital's enduring obsession with tapas and other authentic delicacies. Popularising Spanish cooking through cookbooks, TV appearances, and above all restaurants, it is the latter part of his culinary empire that's to get a boost this year.

José Pizarro already operates a number of respected eateries bearing his name in London, and he's just announced a new addition. It's called Lolo, but don't think he's deviating from his signature naming convention – Lolo refers to the chef's given middle name, Manuel. The new venture will be located in Bermondsey, close to his oldest venture, José Tapas Bar, as well as its larger sibling Pizarro Restaurant down the street. Not much is known about the new restaurant yet, but one interesting titbit is that the all-day dining destination will feature Pizarro's first forays into breakfast service, which definitely has us rethinking our morning regime.

Lolo is set to open in Bermondsey Street later this summer, and we'll be sure to bring you more details once we have them.
