New scheme to provide free access to London theatre shows for those in need

The new London Ticket Bank initiative aims to provide access to cultural events for those who can't afford to buy tickets. Partner organisations will pledge unsold tickets for their events to the Ticket Bank, which will then pass on access codes to partner charities. These will then pass on the codes to the people they work with and who would like to attend, but can't afford to do so on their own due to the cost-of-living crisis.

Currently, seven leading cultural institutions in the capital have signed up to participate in the scheme, which launches on Monday, 9 January 2023. Around 1,000 tickets a week in total are expected to be available across the following institutions:

London Ticket Bank is also in talks with a further seven institutions, as well as cinemas, in the hopes of getting them to join the initiative.
