Here's your chance to own a piece of London dining history

A collection of furnishings from the legendary Simpson's in the Strand restaurant will be put up for auction in August.

Simpson's in the Strand is one of the oldest traditional restaurants in London, dating back all the way to 1828, and has seen the likes of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Winston Churchill, and Charles Dickens walk through its doors over the years. Currently closed, with a reopening date supposedly slated for 2024, the luxury establishment is clearing house.

On 2–3 August, The Savoy, the lavish five-star hotel that the restaurant is part of, will be auctioning off a collection of unique pieces from the historic restaurant. The lots include everything from iconic equipment such as silver carving trolleys and exclusive furniture pieces to bespoke tableware.

The auction will take place in person and online on 2–3 August, with viewings available the day before or by arrangement. Find out more here.
