Drawing Room to open its new space in Bermondsey in September

We've got good news for art fans in London – from 22nd September there's an (almost) new art gallery to explore. After closing its space in Elephant & Castle in 2022, Drawing Room is reopening at a new permanent site in Bermondsey. Originally established back in 2002, Drawing Room remains the capital's only art gallery devoted to contemporary drawing. The goal is to show the potential of drawing and support artists who work with drawing at any stage of their career.

Drawing Room presents a diverse array of exhibitions from both established art world names and up-and-coming practitioners, with every show focusing on contemporary drawing. Just like at its previous space, the gallery will continue to put on a range of events themed on drawing, including its regular Drawing Research Forum symposiums that present the latest in academic research on the subject. Other events include workshops, panel discussions, and special activities for gallery members including walks with artists and visits to private art collections.

Just like in the previous Elephant & Castle space, visitors will also be able to access Drawing Room's library. The library contains thousands of books on contemporary drawing and is open to everyone. Whether you enjoy looking at drawing, love to draw as a hobby, or you're a professional artist, the new space promises to have lots going on for all types of drawing fans.
