Grand Hotell Hörnan is a really nice hotel in the middle of Uppsala right down by fyrisån. Thus, the location is perfect as a starting point for exploring the whole city. It is close to both the castle, Stadstrådgården, Botansika garden, Linnaeus Garden and shopping street.
The hotel is small and I have come to the conclusion in recent years that I appreciate this much, much more than the large hotel complexes. It feels more intimate and cozy and I appreciate the calm that comes with it. You can really relax.
The rooms are clean and nice. Not so big but has everything you need and a nice view of the river. Beds and pillows are comfortable. They also have larger suites with their own balcony and if the weather is good, it looks like a wonderful place for breakfast or a last glass of wine before bedtime.
They have a bar on site where classic cocktails are shaken. The room is beautiful, high ceilings, velvet curtains and soft chairs and armchairs. It really is a hotel bar and not crowded with people or messy. Which I really appreciate both before dinner and later in the evening.
Breakfast was not large but everything needed is available. When it is a small hotel, it is usually not the same breakfast but I think that instead you win on the beautiful room and the calm atmosphere that occurs.
Will definitely live here again!

Ended up here by accident. The hotel is currently renovating the bar and has a reduced bar menu served in the breakfast room. However, they have a newly hired sommelier who will be responsible for their drinks. Very nice, engaged and made the whole visit despite the renovation. Will definitely visit the bar when they open later this spring.
