The best bars in Uppsala

Stationen

A touch of London

Meet up with friends for a meal or a late-night glass of wine at Stationen's London-inspired bar. They serve up everything from lunch to afternoon tea and lively evenings. The bar specialises in gin, with a range of exciting gin-based cocktails and there are occasional appearances from DJs and other performers.

Plock

Creativity behind the bar

Uppsala's top tapas bar is also one of the city's best cocktail bars. You can of course order a classic cocktail, but it's the bartenders' own concoctions that really stand out. From totally out-there mixtures with beetroot, Campari and vodka to more pared-back cocktails such as Absolut Mango elegantly blended with pineapple and mango.

Clarion Hotel Gillet

Shaken not stirred

At the Kitchen & Table Bar inside the Clarion Hotel Gillet you'll find some of the best cocktails to be had in Uppsala. Drop by for a glass of wine, or a perfectly balanced cocktail with innovative flavour combinations. Quite simply, a drink to suit all tastes and occasions and a mixed crowd of both hotel guests and locals.

Magnussons Krog

Intimate at D1

D1's well-stocked bar shelves have everything you need for a relaxed cocktail evening. Bartenders can mix up pretty much any drink you desire and you may well end up sitting at the bar into the early hours after dinner in Magnussons restaurant right next door.

Grand Hotell Hörnan

Old school cocktails

You'll find what is probably Uppsala's most conservative cocktail bar in the lobby of the Grand Hotel Hörnan. Forget made-up newfangled cocktails and embrace perfectly balanced Cosmopolitans, sparkling Bellinis and bone-dry Dry Martinis served by equally dry, unpretentiously professional staff.

Sherlock's City

England meets India

At Sherlock's, which calls itself "The Smallest Pub With The Biggest Heart", English pubs meet India. There's a large selection of beer, including several alcohol-free options. There's also plenty for wine and whiskey aficionados to choose from. The simple pub menu includes British and Indian flavours.

Katalin and all that Jazz

Jazzy bar scene

Katalin and all that Jazz, housed in an old railway goods shed next to Östra Station, is a combined music venue, restaurant and jazz bar. You'll find the programme of upcoming concerts on Katalin's website.

Picnic Bar & Restaurant

Atmospheric

Picnic, inside the Radisson Blu Hotel right next to the central railway station, is open from morning until night. Every Friday they have special after-work evenings where things get lively with live DJs and fabulous cocktails. During the summer months they open up their al fresco area where you can sit and enjoy a glass of wine in the sun.

7 Flaskor

Award winning

As the name suggests, the menu here always consists of just 7 flaskor (bottles) and 7 cocktails, with carefully selected drinks and well-balanced cocktails. The bar was named Bar Concept of the Year in 2018 and since then has become a popular part of Uppsala's nighlife.
