Scandwich was founded in Malmö and came to Midsommarkransen in Stockholm in spring 2018. Three brothers with a particular passion for substantial sandwiches and modern toppings are behind the concept. Everything here is made completely from scratch with an artisanal mindset.
Scandwich's Stockholm branch is situated right in the middle of Midsommarkransen just outside the city. Here, in light, airy premises with homemade furniture, bright blue details and bare lightbulbs hanging from the ceiling, they've transformed the humble sandwich into a meal in its own right. Locals and regulars crowd here to eat open sandwiches loaded with toppings and innovative flavour combinations for both lunch and dinner. The sandwich Beta Best, created by Viktor Lind who is a part-owner and chef at Scandwich, won second place in the Swedish Sandwich Championships in 2018.
The idea is that the sandwiches they serve should be both filling and "unbelievably delicious", and the selection changes occasionally and according to the seasons. The menu always includes a vegetarian sandwich, a vegan sandwich and a meat one, as well as hand-cut fries and other tasty snacks. The drinks selection is also carefully chosen, with a choice of wines and two alternating beers on tap.
Every second Tuesday Scandwich holds a quiz night with a pop culture focus. They also provide catering and sandwiches for meetings.
