The hamburger trend continues to hold Stockholm in its meaty grip. In the summer of 2017, BC Burgers opened on Nytorget in SoFo in Södermalm. An ambitious hamburger restaurant which cooks all their food from scratch and uses meat sourced exclusively from Swedish farms. You can also drop by for a cocktail or post-work beer.
BC Burgers is decorated in classic SoFo (South of Folkungagatan) style, with leather sofas, industrial-chic furniture and black and white photography. Their mission is to create the ancient feeling of gathering around an open fire to eat and enjoy each other's company (BC is a play on the words "Before Christ", among other things). Their food philsophy is that you should know what you're eating, and their aim is to take the popular fastfood favourite to the next level - with the help of top quality ingredients and careful preparation. Alongside hamburgers made from chuck and brisket, they offer a range of vegetarian burgers and a vegan burger made from beans and cashew nuts. Burgers are accompanied by a range of sides and sauces, and there are lactose-free milkshakes (if you don't want to indulge in an Oreo Dream Cake). Drop by BC Burgers for a post-work drink. The brass-clad bar in the middle of the restaurant serves cocktails made with tequila and mezcal, among other spirits, and you can order bar food there. In the summer months, they open up their spacious al fresco dining area in the heart of Södermalm.
