Where to celebrate the National Day of Sweden in Stockholm

At Skansen, Sweden's National Day is celebrated from morning until evening with various activities for young and old. There will be fun kids' activities in the park, a concert in Seglora church, tasting of Sweden's various regional dishes, folk dance demonstrations and much more. The evening ends with the traditional National Day celebrations on the Solliden stage, which is broadcast on SVT Play at 8pm and is attended by the royal family. 

Hågelbyparken in Tumba will be celebrating with family-friendly fun and activities. There will be entertainment on the stage and Botkyrka municipality will be welcoming new Swedish citizens. Have something to eat and drink while you're there at Café Anna Giertz, say hello to the animals in the petting zoo, get your face painting, take a ride on the train and much more.

At the popular Museum of Spirits on Djurgården the National Day is celebrated with a tasting of Swedish snaps, from traditional OP to exciting new kinds of Aquavit. Snaps expert Nadja Karlsson guides you through the history and geography of snaps and shares her fascinating knowledge of snaps flavouring and “the water of life”.

At Södermalm's Stora Blecktornsparken they'll be celebrating with pony rides, a bouncy castle, Aya Baya band, candy floss and popcorn. There will also be coffee and cakes for sale, a painting wall, lottery, treasure hunt and sheep show. Fun for all the family! 

If you want to celebrate Sweden's National Day with live music in club surroundings, Trädgården is a safe bet. The Södermalm club opens the pre-party before Rosendal Garden Party week with a concert by celebrated American singer and violinist Sudan Archives. Along with her live band she mixes influences from Sudanese violin virtuosos with R&B and West African rhythms. 

Historic Villa Godthem welcomes guests to a National Day celebration with traditional Swedish culinary craftsmanship. This classic restaurant in Djurgården, which is at its most beautiful in June, is an obvious choice for anyone who wants to enjoy well-prepared food in summery surroundings. East on Stureplan is hosting a party with both live music and a DJ. It starts at 6 pm and continues with dancing until the early hours. Artists Lovad and Klockrent! will be performing, the bar will be serving up plenty of exciting cocktails with a emphasis on Asian flavours.
