Where to celebrate the National Day of Sweden in Stockholm
Updated 3 Jun 2019
Sweden's National Day is celebrated on June 6th each year, with food, music and entertainment. There are several spots in and around Stockholm where you can join in the patriotic party, including parties in the park, musical performances by major artists and traditional dancing and flag-waving at Skansen. Or why not take part in a spontaneous wedding? Follow our guide to fun National Day celebrations in Stockholm 2019 for all ages.

This year's programme in Rålambshovsparken and at the Smedsuddsbadet outdoor swimming spot includes several activities for children and young people. As usual the National Day will be celebrated traditionally at Stockholm's open air folk museum, with folk dancing, old-fashioned activities for children, flag-making workshops and face painting. Hågelbyparken in Tumba will be celebrating with family-friendly fun and activities. Have something to eat and drink while you're there at Café Anna Giertz or Parkserveringen.

Do you and your partner fancy getting spontaneously hitched? Celebrate the National Day with a marriage ceremony in the gardens of Vitabergsparken. Not a traditional National Day celebration, perhaps, but still good fun. Stockholm Hippie Market will be held at Vintervikens Trädgård this year on 6 June, along with Chillival, a music festival playing a summery mix of house and downtempo, with world music influences.
