The best restaurants in Hammarby sjöstad and Sickla

At Nya Carnegiebryggeriet, housed in the amazing Luma building, guests can experience modern beer culture using all their senses. It's a brewery and a restaurant in one and you can taste the brewery's own beers, have something delicious to eat or drink or learn more about beer on one of their courses.

Restaurang Göteborg is right on Sickla canal, with wonderful wide steps down to the water where guests can sit and enjoy the evening sun in the summer months. The glass-walled restaurant is also perfect for cosy autumn and winter evenings and the main focus of the menu is top-notch produce, all year round.

Come to Sjöstaden Skybar for lunch, post-work drinks with colleagues or dinner with family or friends. The restaurant is run by restaurateur Niklas Ahlbom, who also's behind Restaurang Göteborg and Himlen and it serves a menu inspired by North and South America, southern Europe and the Middle East. During the summer months they open up the west-facing roof terrace, where you can enjoy the views accompanied by cocktails and snacks.

This Greek restaurant aims to offer its guests summer holiday vibes, with Greek food and sunny interiors. The menu includes both larger and smaller Greek dishes, from olives for snacking on to substantial grilled dishes. Best accompanied by a Mythos or a shot of ouzo.

Trattoria Grazie brings a taste of Italy to Sjöstan. The menu includes traditional Neapolitan pizzas, homemade ice cream and fresh pasta, served in cool industria-stylel surroundings with high ceilings and masses of leafy plants.

Eat breakfast and lunch, or just have a coffee, at Lumafabriken. With its spacious premises and fantastic location right next to Hammarby canal, Lumafabriken has become a firm favourite among office workers, groups of friends and young families alike. The kitchen uses locally-produced, organic ingredients wherever possible. During the summer months you can sit and eat al fresco alongside the canal.

Sushi favourite Tezukuri serves top-notch sushi and other authentic Japanese delicacies by the harbour. Large groups can order beautiful sushi creations to share.

Noll Ettan, in the recently-build Stockholm New area, serves breakfast favourites and delicious lunches. Kickstart the day with an avocado sandwich, croissant or smoothies, while the lunch menu includes a daily meat, fish and vegetarian dish, along with sushi and various salads. If you're in the mood for something sweet there are masses of yummy cakes and pastries from their bakery. When the sun appears their loungey outdoor dining area is the place to be.

Right on the quayside, Marina Tapas invites you on a sunny holiday in culinary format. Spanish tapas and starters make up most of the menu, but they also serve a couple of classic main courses like paella. The food, atmosphere, and view of the sunset from the outdoor terrace make it easy to confuse Hammarby Sjöstad with Barcelona...

At Namaskaar, right in the centre of Hammarby sjöstad, you can choose between eating traditional Indian food in the restaurant, or new and exciting flavour combinations in the bistro. The influences there are also Indian and the menu consists of small dishes with an emphasis on vegetarian options.

As at all the bakeries in the popular Bröd & Salt group, sweet cakes and pastries and rustic bread are baked in stone ovens, in a traditional way with love and care, but no lactose. They also serve a wide selection of salads and sandwiches.

Magnus Johansson, a pastry chef who rose to fame on a national tv cooking show, has opened this cosy bakery and konditori in Hammarby sjöstad with his wife. Everything from homemade bread, pastries and lunch dishes are on offer here.

Vivels has been around since the 1930s, which means they've accumulated a huge amount of experience and recipes over the years. They bake breads and buns, cakes and pastries. The café in Hammarby has plenty of space if you want to take a seat, and during the summer months you can have a seat outdoors for breakfast or a coffee.
