This restaurant, housed in the luxurious Hotel Diplomat, is characterised by its signature Art Nouveau style and is beautifully located on the shorefront by Nybrokajen. This neighbourhood restaurant is one of the most recent additions to the ever-reliable Bockholmengruppen stable of restaurants. Paraden can be found in the middle of Valhallavägen and has been a popular haunt among locals and regulars since it opened. You can eat lunch and dinner here or just have a drink at the bar. They serve brunch at the weekend.

The chef duo from Adam/Albin also run this Tokyo-influenced restaurant inside the historic Birger Jarlspassagen shopping arcade. They serve small dishes, grilled skewers and ramen alongside exciting cocktails with complementary flavours. A buzzy meeting place that's as welcoming during the day as in the evening.

At the far end of  Östermalmshallen indoor food market, Lisa Elmqvist serves the very best and freshest produce from the sea. Take a seat in the luxurious dining room and pick and choose from dishes such as fish soup, seafood platter and shellfish risotto. They've also put a great deal of care into the drinks menu, which includes a wide selection of cocktails, wine and beer. 

Art, design, handcrafts and gastronomy come together in a historic building in the heart of Östermalm at Restaurang Oxenstiernan. Silversmith and jeweller Sebastian Schildt, creative director Elvira Lindqvist and their team have created a space for all the senses here, with an emphasis on sustainable cooking. The frequently-changing menu is steered by the seasons, weather and winds, but the common denominator is Swedish culinary craftsmanship, for which they were awarded a green Michelin star in 2022. Vegetables take centre stage here, prepared with classic flavours and cooking techniques and accompanied by meat from carefully selected producers and drinks without additives and pesticides.  

Brasserie Astoria, run by the Frantzén group of restaurants, serves up an international and elegant experience with 1920s influences. There's a generous à la carte menu for both lunch and dinner, where many of the dishes are served at the table on old-fashioned trolleys. As well as the large dining room there's also a large bar area with cocktails and DJs, a wine bar and a more intimate dining room area with its own entrance for drop-in guests.

The restaurants in the Svenska Brasserier group are institutions on the Stockholm restaurant scene, and most of them are centrally located around Stureplan. Enjoy the Continental atmosphere at Sturehof, the classic dishes at Riche and Teatergrillen, or the buzzy feel of Italian Taverna Brillo.

The team behind Jim & Jacob opened this Östermalm restaurant in 2019. The restaurant takes its culinary inspiration from southern Europe, focusing on Mediterranean food and drinks served in stylish, laid-back surroundings. ISSEI Stockholm, right on the waterfront of Nybroviken, was one of the first restaurants in Stockholm to present the Nikkei concept. Japanese ingredients meet Peruvian produce at this elegant restaurant and are transformed into something completely unique. 

This popular neighbourhood restaurant serves a Mediterranean-inspired menu with an emphasis on Italian flavours at breakfast, lunch and dinner. At breakfast you can choose from everything from chia pudding to rye bread and croissants, and the lunch menu always includes a dish of the day alongside regular Italian lunch favourites. If you love ramen, this is the place to come. Tengu is in the A house building and is run by the people behind Café Nizza, Babette and Schmaltz, together with one of the founders of Totemo Ramens. As well as ramen and Japanese sharing dishes they serve beer, sake and wine. 

South American flavours take centre stage at Supper in Sturegallerian shopping galleria. The open kitchen serves small dishes ideal for sharing and the bar mixes up cocktails such as pisco sours. Eat lunch and dinner or just enjoy a drink with friends. 

This charming neighbourhood restaurant is a bustling melting pot from early morning to late evening. The French inspired cuisine serves classic bistro-style dishes with Swedish undertones. Many of the main courses cost around the 200 SEK mark. The outdoor seating area is also a popular hangout.

Over the years, one of the glass houses on the quayside of Strandvägen has housed, among other things, both gas stations and restaurants, but it's now had the same owner since 2018. The restaurant, appropriately-named Glashuset, focuses on Swedish and local food in the form of small dishes with international flavours. If small dishes are not your thing - don't despair, there are also larger main courses on the menu.

This refined Italian restaurant offers a culinary experience out of the ordinary; the traditional menu has a contemporay twist. The interior reflects this balance, with classic tablecloth-covered tables and modern detailing.

Among the Army Museum's pale stone vaults, you'll find the museum restaurant Artilleriet. The Italiano group's first restaurant opened in 1989 and since then they've been serving Italian classic dishes and drinks in warm, welcoming surroundings. In 2011 they opened up Italiano Bar, where you can grab an espresso on the run, eat lunch and dinner or enjoy an aperitivo. 

Since 1986 PA & Co has been one of Stockholm's best-known celebrity haunts, frequented by famous writers and other restaurant regulars. The restaurant's reputation is further heightened by the fact that a popular dessert named Gino - a fruit and white chocolate confection - was invented here. 

Family-owned Trattoria Montanari draws inspiration from their hometown Fano, and offers regional specialities. The simple tavern-style decor is testimony to the philosophy that food should be made without frills and additives from organic, high-quality produce. Forget electric griddles and gas ovens - at Niklas Ekstedt's Michelin-starred restaurant on Humlegårdsgatan food is cooked over open fire. The kitchen explores ancient cooking techniques, serving their own version of Nordic cuisine, with seasonal ingredients and Swedish flavours.  

Persona, whose founder has worked at both Adam/Albin and Frantzén, is housed in modern design premises close to Strandvägen. They serve a tasting menu to up to 25 guests per evening, with an emphasis on top quality service, fine ingredients and excellent wines. 

With chef Petter Nilsson at the helm, Petri serves up a natural taste experience that reflects the seasons. The restaurant's tasting menu, Petrichor, is named after the fragrance of summer rain and consists of six or ten courses. They also serve lunch on Fridays. 

Black Milk Gastro Bar is run by restaurateur duo Daniel Höglander and Niclas Jönsson from two Michelin-starred Aloë. They serve a luxurious omakase experience along with drinks from Artilleriets cocktail bar, Stjärtilleriet. Black Milk Gastro Bar is next door to the duo's lunch concept Black Milk Gastro Lunch.

Three former private residences now house this renowned hotel in Lärkstaden. If you're not staying the night you can still visit Ett Hem to eat, a perfect way to experience the hotel's personal luxury without booking a room. The kitchen cooks both lunch and dinner using local and seasonal ingredients.
