Skroten

Archipelago café

You'll find Skroten Café right next to the little island of Beckholmen in the Nya Djurgårdsvarvet boatyard. This tucked-away spot oozes archipelago vibes and everything on the menu is homemade. Treat yourself to something sweet, eat a simple lunch, warm up with a mug of hot chocolate or enjoy a glass of wine. Take a break from your Djurgården walk to buy something from their nautical shop or have a sit down and warm yourself in the winter. Four-legged friends are also welcome.

Café Blockhusporten

Summer oasis

Right out at the far end of Djurgården you'll find this hidden oasis, a world away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. Only open in the summer, you can sit right by the water and watch the boats sail in past Nacka Strand and into Stockholm harbour. Take in the natural surroundings as you enjoy a sandwich, cake or ice cream.

Lilla Hasselbacken

Classic restaurant with long history

Lilla Hasselbacken has been around since 1896 and it's located right opposite Skansen. Regulars and tourists alike come for their classic Swedish cuisine. The café is open every day all year round and serves everything from sandwiches and cakes and pastries to more advanced dishes and alcoholic drinks.

Flickorna Helin

Coffee at the Skåne mine

A perfect way to round off a stroll around Djurgården is with a visit to Flickorna Helin. This beautiful fairytale pavilion, a former exhibition building just outside Skansen, boasts a wonderful veranda with gorgeous views. Their own bakery produces all their bread and pastries and you'll find everything from homemade soups to salads on the menu. You can also order a glass of wine or cold beer to go with your meal.

Lilla parkkaféet

Part of Stockholm's cultural history

Step back in time and experience a slice of cultural history at Hoppa bakåt Lilla Parkcaféet. The building has been carefully presered since the late 1900s, which means you still get the feeling of being transported back to the Fifties when you walk through the doors. The menu includes typical sandwiches, cakes and pastries.

Konsthallen

Direct from the bakery

Take the SL ferry from Slussen or jump on the tram out to Djurgården and Konsthallen. Their shop sells bread and buns and you can sit in and enjoy a coffee and something sweet or savoury baked in their in-house bakery. They also serve breakfast and lunch in historic surroundings.

Café Petissan

Just like a fairy tale

When visiting the idyllic historic buildings and animal enclosures at Skansen, a stop-off at Café Petissan is a must. This picturesque spot is straight from the pages of an Astrid Lindgren book and it's the perfect place to stop for a traditional Swedish fika. The extensive cake buffet includes cinnamon buns, roulades, various kinds of typical Swedish biscuits and cookies, as well as cordial and, of course, filter coffee.

Koloni

Organic café

Koloni at Skansen has created an idyllic little café with coffee from a family-owned Swedish roastery, famously good cakes and pastries, healthy salads and yummy pacakes. If you're not that hungry you can always just have a creamy soft-serve ice cream or a glass of Kullamust apple juice from Skåne. Adult guests can order a cold beer or glass of Fairtrade wine.
