BodyBuddy

For body and soul

Healthfood café Bodybuddy within the Yogayama Östermalm yoga studio serves coffee, breakfast and lunch. The emphasis is on nutritious food in the form of colourful bowls, salads, sandwiches, homemade rawfood cakes and pastries and smoothies.

Stora Bageriet

Luxurious seasonal fika

Stora Bageriet's counters are crammed with top-notch pastries, fika, and freshly baked bread. They use mainly organic ingredients, and flavours reflect seasonal produce. Pop by for a cup of speciality coffee and a bun, as well as for breakfast, lunch or a glass of natural wine.

À La Lo

Vegan and homemade

This cosy café is run by a mother and daughter team with a passion for pastries, France, and coffee. They've created their dream café where they serve their own homemade treats. As well as indulging in delicious sweets, you can also satisfy your hunger with sandwiches, smoothies, lunch salads, and yogurt bowls – all completely vegan. Arrive early to secure a spot, especially on weekends when the queue can be long.

Strandvägen 56 KMK

Coffee canalside

Next to Djurgårdsbron at the far end of Strandvägen, you'll find the Royal Motorboat Club (Kungliga Motorbåt Klubben) and its restaurant Strandvägen 56, which functions as a café during the daytime. Eat breakfast or a cup of coffee and bite to eat as you enjoy the views over the Djurgården canal and the boats passing by.

Tössebageriet

Classic konditori

Tössebageriet may have made a name for itself with its innovative semlor (everyone remembers the semla wrap, right?), but even if you prefer other pastries you can satisfy your cravings here. This traditional bakery offers a wide variety of pastries, cakes, sandwiches and gateaux – everything you'd expect from a classic Swedish konditori. The selection often reflects the current season and upcoming holidays such as Midsummer, Christmas, Oktoberfest and Waffle Day.

Bullar & Bröd

Craftsmanship and stone oven baking

Almost everything served at Bullar & Bröd comes directly from the heart of the bakery: the large stone oven that sits in the middle of the premises. Both bread and pastries are baked using natural, mainly organic, ingredients, with no additives. Cosy up in the café on Valhallavägen with a treat, lunch, or breakfast, and don't forget to take a loaf of bread home with you.

Café Pascal

As beautiful as it is delicious

It's hard to resist the cornucopia of delights displayed behind the counter at Pascal. The cakes, pastries, sandwiches and salads here are as beautiful as they are delicious, and the coffee is top quality. The generous opening hours make it easy to drop by before or after work.

Karla Café

Popular and packed

You'll find this popular café on Karlavägen in the heart of Östermalm. It has a welcoming home-from-home feel and is popular among locals and celebs, young and old alike, with seats both indoors and outside in the summer months. They serve everything from breakfast to lunch and early dinner in the form of both simple and more substantial dishes.

Mr Cake

Swedish-American

Swedish fika culture and American café culture meet in a sugar-sweet combo at Roy Fares' Mr Cake, Pick and choose from decadent sweet treats such as buns with frosting, cakes, donuts and croissants, along with more substantial options like wraps and salads.

Saturnus

Stockholm's biggest cinnamon buns

This cosy café is slightly hidden away on Eriksbergsgatan but just a short walk from Humlegården park and Stureplan. It's peaceful (but not too quiet) and full of guests who come to eat breakfast, brunch, lunch - and of course their famous cinnamon buns. As well as tasty buns, they also serve grilled sandwiches and salads which you can combine with coffee and hot chocolate as well as refreshing cold drinks.

Le

Sweet and savoury

Are you craving a big brunch-style treat? Then  head to Le Östermalm, where they serve up sweet and savoury dishes in modern, slightly industrial surroundings. Avocado toast, pancakes and bowls are typical menu items.

Café Olive

Breakfast, lunch and coffee

You'll find owner Hanan and her Café Olive in Norra Djurgårdsstan. The concept is built on vegan cakes and pastries, substantial salads, tasty sandwiches, smoothies, coffee and sweet treats. The emphasis is on sustainability and local ingredients. Enjoy a peaceful moment in the café, outside or grab some goodies to take home with you.
