Updated 19 Aug 2020
South American and Latin American food is the hot new addition to Stockholm's restaurant scene. Forget boring Nineties-style tacos; these days you'll find fresh taquerias and other Mexican restaurants along with Peruvian cevicherias and influences from the Caribbean and other parts of South America. Latin American cuisine stretches from the American South and Central America, where corn-based dishes, salsas and hot chilli spices are common, all the way down to Patagonia in the south of South America. South American cuisine has its origins at the border between Panama and Colombia and offers a wide variety of dishes. Be prepared for a flavour explosion - you'll find the very best Latin American, South American and Mexican restaurants in Stockholm in our guide.
