Guld Kaffe & Kök

Guld Kaffe & Kök

This light and airy café alongside Sven-Harrys art museum opened in 2019 and serves breakfast, lunch (and sometimes supper) dishes and coffee and cakes in the middle of leafy Vasaparken. Pop by for a hearty salad, get the day off to a healthy start with a breakfast bowl or just have a coffee and something sweet. Or why not treat yourself to a glass of cava?

You don't need to visit the museum to eat or drink at Guld - they've created a modern oasis with both healthy and more indulgent treats that's open to everyone. Take a break in the light, airy premises and look out over the park through the floor-to-ceiling windows, have a breakfast meeting or meet up over a cup of coffee. If you're hungry, there are substantial salads with Asian flavours and lighter hot dishes which you can pair with wine or beer.

For many of us, the morning is a bit of a golden moment and at Guld you can kick off the day with nutritious breakfast options such as chia pudding and "golden yoghurt" with turmeric and fruit. Coffee comes from an artisan roastery in Gothenburg, but they also serve matcha latte and dark hot chocolate if you fancy something different. You can drop by for a fika at any time of day - their counter is groaning with buns, croissants and pastries. Towards the end of the week, Guld has slightly longer opening hours so you can come by for something to eat and a glass of wine after work.

This is really a new favorite place. Everything from the cool gold door entrance that is pushed to the side at the touch of a button to the view and the atmosphere. Not to mention the food.

I ate a smoked salmon bowl for an incredibly reasonable price.

A perfect meeting place or... Show full »
