If there's one place in Malmö you could call a true cultural hub, offering something for all musical and cultural tastes, Moriska Paviljongen (the Moorish Pavilion) is it.

Whether you want to spend the evening on the dancefloor, go to a concert, see a play, listen to a talk or eat a top notch dinner, a visit to Norra Parkgatan 2 never disappoints.

Their extensive entertainment programme spreads out across the building's four stages, bars and, not least, their French/Moroccan restaurant, Bistron, which encompasses some five rooms including several bars, an outdoor dining area, mobile conference equipment, an outdoor stage and much more. Conference facilities are extensive; Moriska Paviljongen's spacious premises are a popular option for all kinds of meetings and events. If you're planning a wedding, Moriska Paviljongen can help arrange the entire event, from decorations to dance and music and, naturally, food and drink.

The impressive building was built at the beginning of the 20th century when Polish architect Aron Wolff Krenzisky was commissioned to designed an entertainment palace in Malmö's Folkets Park. The building was intended as a space for recreation and entertainment for those who didn't feel welcome in the town's established bourgeois salons. The architect chose to design an orientally-inspired fairy tale pavilion, according to the fashion of the time. After several decades of neglect, the building was renovated in 2011 and reopened as a colourful, lively cultural meeting place.

During the summer months, Moriska Paviljongen opens up Moriska Trädgården, an oasis in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the Möllan district. A magnificent Bedouin tent stretches out over Moriska Paviljongen's leafy back courtyard and forms a covered outdoor lounge. Hang out, eat good food and drink fresh, garden-inspired cocktails. Lounge music plays over the loudspeakers (though not so loud you can't hold a conversation) and there are regular concerts. Moriska Trädgården is open Wednesdays through to Saturdays from 5pm to 3am all summer.
